with more information for next years camp to come...
Open to players aged 14 to 18 - playing regional hockey (TA), Adult Div 1 or higher or high standard county players.
'Make changes in something established'
Exciting and engaging sessions design is at the forefront of players being able to innovate. Introducing players to new hockey trends and promoting creativity to think outside the box is key to enabling players to explore...
'Examine or evaluate a possibility'
...now players have a problem to explore: varying methods of overcoming to reach a successful outcome are explored. Once possibilities have been tried and tested, players must perform...
'Carry out and accomplish'
...to perform effectively the problem must be repeated and presented in varying pressure forms! This cycle: innovate, explore, perform - is repeated and reinvented throughout player cycles at Horsfield Hockey to enable an environment to succeed.
"My girls have loved every day of it and they said that everyone of your coaches was absolutely lovely and supremely talented"
"As a University player, I found the training sessions extremely engaging: Lucy always ensured they were a good competitive intensity"
"My child thoroughly enjoyed your hockey camp, particularly all the 'fun drills'"
INNOVATE - Back to back hockey goals on the 23m line: to score ball must pass over the top and land inside the other teams zones without the opposition trapping the ball.
EXPLORE - (1) Technical shaping elements of aerial balls. (2) Experiment with the starting positions of the team to prevent opposition from scoring.
PERFORM - Context of the aerial ball, what are the triggers? Perform the exercises under time pressure!

We are grateful for the support of Crazy Catch. At Horsfield Hockey the development of the Crazy Catch technology has been fantastic for enhancing hockey training. We particularly love the rebound nets for creating unpredictability in the attacking circle. The nets make great coaching aids for GK sessions too!
